As a business owner, we all question how best to use our marketing budget in the digital realm. John Richmond will answer the tough questions and teach us why to advertise in digital at all. What are the choices for local digital vs. outside-the-area, direct vs. network? What are the differences between different types of digital media? How to know which media to choose and when to use them? How to design an effective digital ad? How much to spend?

John Richmond got his start in media 25+ years ago at The Washington Post. He is currently the publisher and general manager of the Times-Standard and director of advertising for a division of 14 Northern California newspapers from Monterey to Eureka. John is formerly CEO of Lost Coast Communications (LostCoastOutpost.com, KHUM, KWPT “The Point”, KSLG “K-Slug”, and 94.1 “The Lounge”). He is the author of 7 novels and lives with his spouse—Leila Roberts, executive director of the North Coast Small Business Development center—and their dog, Benny, on Humboldt Hill. In his "spare" time, John likes to explore the backroads of Humboldt on his Triumph motorcycle and hike with Leila and Benny.
